District Police Budgam Mega Sports Festival 2017 was organized between 18-Aug-17 to 19-Sep-17.
Out of 24 participant teams, the final was played between Choon CC and Rising Star Mirgund on 19th Sep’17 at Sports Stadium Budgam.
It was an interesting match between the two promising teams of the tournament. Choon CC won the toss and elected to bat. Opening batsman Sajad Ahmad started well as he scored 22 runs at good strike rate. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to score at a good pace. Highest scorers were Sohail and Imtyaz Ahmad, who scored 43 and 36 runs. Wilayat from Rising Star Mirgund bowled extremely well and took 5 wickets in 4 overs. Choon CC closed at 171 runs in 20 overs after losing 9 wickets.
Rising Star Mirgund had a good played extremely well while chasing the target of 172 runs. Team had a great batting line up with all the players scoring at good strike rate. Highest scorer was M Asif, who smashed 69 runs in just 37 balls by hitting Seven 4’s and Five 6’s. Team reached to the target in 17.5 overs by losing 5 wickets.
Rising Star Mirgund won the final by 5 wickets against Choon CC.
