Gujarat Darji Cricket Champions (GDCC) 2019 Darji Youth Federation was organized between 4th Feb.’19 to 9th Feb.’19 at Ahmedabad.
27 teams from various cities participated in this much celebrated tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Mundra XI and CGD Warriors 2 on 9th Feb.’19 at Jay Ambe Ground- Hebatpur.
CGD Warriors 2 won the toss and opted to bowl first. The decision did not go well for the team as Mundra XI (Kutch) played a very good innings and posted 132 runs at the end of 14 overs by losing 9 wickets. The highest scorers were Ankur Parmar and Devang Darji, who scored 30 and 29 run respectively at fast pace. Remaining players too contributed well, which helped team reach a competitive score for the final clash. Bowling highlight of the innings was Parth from CGD Warriors 2, who scalped 4 wickets in 3 overs giving only 13 runs.
While replying, opening batsman Darji Dhaval gave CGD Warriors 2 a good start as he smashed 29 runs off 15 balls with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. However, wickets started to fall at regular intervals after his dismissal which resulted in slow pace. Nimesh Darji, who came to bat on 7th position played a wonderful innings and added useful 31 runs, which helped team giving a good fight. Despite trying well, team fell short of 12 runs as they ended up scoring 120 runs in 14 overs after losing all the wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Bhargav Solanki from Mundra XI (Kutch) with 4 wickets in 2 overs. Hiren Solanki too chipped in with 3 important wickets damaging the batting line up of CGD Warriors further.
Mundra XI (Kutch) registered a 12 run win over CGD Warriors 2 in the final of Gujarat Darji Cricket Champions (GDCC) 2019 Darji Youth Federation .
Devang Darji from Mundra XI (Kutch) was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round contribution.
