New Young Star Cricket Club Kharod 2018 was organized between 24th Oct.’18 and 3rd Feb.’19 at Kharod and Ankleshwar.
29 teams from different cities participated in this much celebrated tournament, from which the crucial final was played between Piraman C.C and Honest C.C on 3rd Feb.’19 at Kharod Cricket Ground- Ankleshvar.
Opting to bat first, Piramal C.C posted a reasonable score of 125 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Highest scorers were Siraj Nawab and Saddam Khwaja with 36 and 31 runs respectively. Javid Nawab too played well and added useful 24 runs off 30 balls helping team reach a decent score. Pick of the bowlers was Siraj Bhorat from Honest C.C, who picked 2 important wickets in 4 overs restricting opponent from putting up a big score.
While chasing, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Honest C.C managed to chase down the target in 17 overs by losing 5 wickets. Opening batsman Mohsin Limnad scored well and added 21 runs off 19 balls including 4 boundaries. Highest scorer was Sarfaraj Shaikh, who scored unbeaten 37 runs off 26 balls with 6 boundaries. Almost all the players contributed well for the final chase helping team reach at the target of 126 runs without much struggle. Pick of the bowlers was Mohmed Sehzad from Piramal C.C with 2 wickets.
Honest C. C registered a 5 wicket win over Piramal C.C in the final of New Young Star Cricket Club Kharod 2018.
Sarfaraj Shaikh from Honest C.C was awarded as the player of the match for his excellent contribution.
