DPL Dhamtari Premier League 2019 was organized between 13th Jan.’19 to 29th Jan.’19 at Dhamtari.
Out of 40 participant teams, an all-important final of his heavily followed tournament was played between KKR Nawagaon Ward and Red Bull Dak Bangla Ward on 28th Jan.’19 at Mission Ground- Dhamtari.
Red Bull Dak Bangla Ward won the toss and opted to bowl first. Batting first, KKR Nawagaon Ward got a very good start with opening batsman Subham Sahu smashing 55 runs off 33 balls with 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. However, remaining players did not manage to perform in the same manner and team started to lose wickets at regular intevals. KKR Nawagaon Ward posted a reasonable score of 111 runs in 12 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Babbar Gori from Red Bull Dak Bangla Ward, who picked 2 important wickets in 3 overs by giving only 11 runs.
While chasing, Red Bull Dak Bangla Ward did not manage to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. Majority of the players were dismissed in single digits and team ended up scoring 77 runs in 12 overs by losing 8 wickets in which, 33 runs were added by Shiv Kumar Dhruw single handedly. Subham Sahu from KKR Nawagaon Ward bowled extremely well as he rattled the rival’s boat with 3 wickets in 3 overs giving just 2 runs damaging the batting line up of Red Bull Dak Bangla terribly.
KKR Nawagaon Ward registered a 34 run win over Red Bull Dak Bangla Ward in the final of DPL Dhamtari Premier League 2019 .
Subham Sahu from KKR Nawagaon Ward was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round show.
