The final of Gajay Singh Tomar Memorial Tournament 2017 was played between Uday Bhan Academy (TPL) and Malik Sports (TPL) on 15th Sept’17 at Kheda Garhi Ground- Delhi. It was an interesting fight between two strongest teams of the tournament.
Malik Sports won the toss and elected to field. The team made sure that opponent did not get a chance to score well as Uday Bhan Cricket Academy kept losing wickets from early overs. However, players like Parvesh Daiya, Lalit Yadav and Hitesh Gemini scored at a very good pace and helped team to reach to a reasonable score of 137 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Highest scorer was Lalit Yadav with 54 runs. Pick of the bowlers was Amaninder from Malik Sports (TPL), who took 2 wickets in 4 overs by giving 14 runs.
While replying, despite facing some early loses Malik Sports (TPL) managed to score consistently. Team’s batting line up was good and almost all players scored with good strike rate. Highest scorer was Shampy, who scored crucial 47 runs in 24 balls that steered team towards victory. Hitesh Gemini from Uday Bhan Academy bowled very well and took 3 important wickets in 4 overs. The team (TPL) reached to its target in 18.4 overs by losing 8 wickets.
