The final of District Police Budgam Knockout Championship 2017 was played on 14th Sep’17 at DPL Budgam. The match was between two promising teams - Sheikh Ul Alam Sheikhpora and Sahil CC Naroo.
The 12 overs match started with Sheikh Ul Alam Sheikhpora electing to bat after winning the toss. The team’s performance was extremely poor and almost all players have scored below 10 runs. Imtiyaz Malla (c)’s 63 runs in 41 balls was the only saving grace for the team. Sheikh Ul Alam Sheikhpora ended up scoring 84 runs in 12 overs by losing 8 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Umar Ali from Sahil CC Naroo, who took 3 wickets in 2 overs by giving only 2 runs.
While replying, Sahil CC Naroo too lost some important wickets in early overs. Though the score was not very difficult to achieve, team struggled till the last over to win the final. No one apart from Arif, who has scored 49 runs in 33 balls, managed to score well for the team. Imtiyaz Malla from Sheikh Ul Alam Shekhpora shined again as he took 4 wickets in 3 overs. The team scored 89 runs in 11.5 overs by losing 7 wickets.
Sahil CC Naroo won the final defeating Sheikh Ul alam Shikhpora by 3 wickets!!
