Dotsquares Premier League (DPL) 2018-19 organized by Dotsquares was organized between 1st Dec.’18 to 12th Jan.’19 at Jaipur.
Out of 16 participant times, an all important final of this heavily followed tournament was played between DS Dragons and Soul Brothers on 12th Jan.’19 at Ratandeep Cricket Ground- Jaipur.
Opting to bat, DS Dragons had a very good start with both opening batsmen Ashish Baliyan and Kishan Kushwaha scoring 37 and 36 runs respectively at fast pace. Highest run-getter was Surendra Poonia, who smashed 44 runs off 26 runs with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. However, wickets fell in quick succession after dismissal of Surendra Poonia and team closed their innings at a competitive score of 151 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Kuldeep Rao from Soul Brothers with 3 wickets.
While replying, Soul Brothers failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, opening batsman Monesh Arora played a good innings and scored 26 runs off 25 balls with 3 boundaries. Kuldeep Rao and Narayan Garg too contributed well and added useful 30 and 27 runs respectively at fast rate during crucial overs. It was thrilling final where, despite trying really well Soul Brothers fell short of just 4 runs from reaching at the target as they ended up scoring 147 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Almost all the bowlers from DS Dragons performed well but the pick of the lot was Ashok from DS Dragons, who scalped 3 important wickets.
DS Dragons won the nail-biting final by 4 runs against Soul Brothers in Dotsquares Premier League (DPL) 2018-19.
Ashish Baliyan from DS Dragons was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round show.
