One of the most celebrated tournaments of Ahmedabad- Gesia Sports League Season-5 2018-19, organized by Gesia IT Association was played between 30th Dec.’18 to 13th Jan.’19.
Out of the 16 participant teams, an all-important final of this heavily followed tournament was played between CricHeroes Pvt Ltd and IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd on 13th Jan.’19 at Adani Shantigram - Ahmedabad.
Opting to bat first, CricHeroes Pvt Ltd failed to get a good start as they lost some important wickets in early overs. Team didn’t get chance to recover with most of the players being dismissed in single digits. Vishwajitsinh Rothod was the highest scorer, whose timely 26 off 23 balls helped team reach at a decent score of 71 runs at the end of 16 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Yogesh Solanki from IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd led their bowling attack as he picked 2 important wickets in 4 overs giving only 10 runs. Sandeep Prajapati too chipped in with 2 more wickets hampering the batting line up of CricHeroes Pvt Ltd badly.
While chasing, IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd started extremely well with both the opening batsmen Kushang Modi and Captain Mihir Raval scoring 31 and 19 runs respectively at fast pace taking team close to the final win. Since the score was not very difficult to defend, team managed to reach at the target of 72 runs in 13.1 overs despite losing few wickets during crucial overs. Viswajitsinh Rathod from CricHeroes Pvt Ltd shined with bowl too as he picked 3 important wickets in 4 overs restricting the run-flow of opponent team.
IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd posted a 5 wicket win over CricHeroes Pvt Ltd in the final of Gesia Sports League Season-5 2018-19.
Kushang Modi from IndiaNIC Infotech Ltd was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
