The final of 8th National School Championship was played between Uttarakhand A U12 and Delhi A U12. The match was held at Khara Ground, New Delhi on 8th Sep’17.
Delhi A U12 won the toss and elected to field. Opening batsman Poorwansh Dhruv from Uttarakhand A U12 was on fire, who scored 87 runs in just 44 balls by hitting 10 boundaries and 6 sixes. Despite poor performance of other players, the team closed at a decent score of 119 runs by losing 4 wickets at the end of 15 overs.
While chasing the target of 120 runs, Delhi A U12 did not have a very good start. Uttarakhand A U12’s wonderful fielding resulted in the quick fall of wickets restricting them from scoring well. None of the batsmen stood for long to make runs at the required pace. At the end of 15 overs, Delhi A U12 was at 69 runs by losing 7 wickets.
Uttarakhand A U12 won the final with good margin of 50 runs.
