14th All India Shaheed Major Amiy Tripathi Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 23rd Dec.’18 to 29th Dec.’18 at Kushinagar.
8 teams from various cities participated in this much celebrated tournament from which, the final was played between Azad Electronics Fazilnagar and Malik Sports (Hariyana) on 29th Dec.’18 at Raj Multi Stadium- Fazilnagar.
Opting to bat, Azad Electronics Fazilnagar played a very good innings with most of the players contributing significantly in final score. Opening batsman Ravi Singh was the highest scorer, who smashed 41 runs off 30 balls with 3 boundaries and 4 sixes. The other major contributor was Amar Chaudhary with 38 runs in 22 balls. Remaining players too scored at fast rate, which helped team reach at a good score of 229 runs in 32.5 overs by losing all the wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Jitesh Ghanghas from Malik Sports (Haryana) with 2 wickets.
While replying, Malik Sports (Haryana) too started well with both the opening batsmen Parwinder Singh and Abhishek Pathak scoring 20 and 12 runs respectively at fast pace. Rahul Singh and Ajay Dahiya too played well and added useful 29 and 33 runs respectively. However, despite trying well other players failed to maintain the pace and team started to lose wickets at regular interval. Atal Bihari Rai and Jamshed Alam rattled the rival boat with 3 wickets each but the pick of the lot was Vipin Chandra, who took 2 important wickets in 4 overs giving only 10 runs, which restricted Malik Sports (Haryana) from reaching at the target. Team collapsed at the score of 140 runs in 22 overs.
Azad Electronics Fazilnagar registered a glorious 89 run win over Malik Sports (Haryana) in the final of 14th All India Shaheed Major Amiy Tripathi Cricket Tournament 2018.
Vipin Chandra from Azad Electronics Fazilnagar was awarded as the player of the match as well as Player of the tournament for his excellent performance throughout the tournament.
