Simlak Cricket League 2018-19 was organized between 23rd Nov.’18 to 23rd Dec.’18 at Navsari.
Out of the 16 participant teams, an all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Simlak Cricket Club and Kapletha Avengers on 23rd Dec.’18 at Simlak Cricket Ground- Navsari.
Electing to bat, Simlak Cricket Club posted a competitive score of 149 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Opening batsmen Khalil Hans and Ismail Bismillah started well by scoring 21 and 11 runs respectively at fast pace. Highest scorer was Lukman Vaid with 29 runs. Pick of the bowler was Depak Rathod from Kapletha Avengers, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs restricting opponent from putting up a big score.
While chasing, Kapletha Avengers gave a very good fight till the last over with almost all the players contributing significantly for the final chase. Piyush Rathod played a wonderful innings as he smashed unbeaten 49 runs off 35 balls with 6 boundaries and 1 six. Abu Samrodia too supported him well from the other end by adding useful 25 runs at fast rate taking team very close to the target. However, despite trying really well, team fell short of just 3 runs as team ended up scoring 146 runs in 20 overs by losing 6 wickets.
Simlak Cricket Club won the final of Simlak Cricket League 2018-19 by 3 runs against Kapletha Avengers.
