BPL Season -2 2018 was organized between 10th Dec.’18 to 21st Dec.’18 at Banda (Uttar Pradesh).
Held at Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel Sports Stadium -Banda, an all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played between Sand Diamonds and Shazar Kings on 21st Dec.’18.
Opting to bat first, Sand Diamonds played a wonderful innings with most of the players contributing significantly for the final score. The highest scorers were Mohit Singh and Dheerendra Kushwaha, who scored 52 and 31 runs respectively at fast rate putting team to commanding position from the start. Other players too maintained the pace and team posted a good score of 147 runs at the end of 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.
While replying, Shazar Kings started well with opening batsman Kamlesh Rajput scoring 19 runs off 16 balls with 3 boundaries. However, remaining players struggle to score well against the strong bowling attack from Sand Diamonds and team started to lose wickets at regular intervals. After Kamlesh Rajput’s dismissal team went through a dramatic collapse and crumbled at paltry 67 runs in 13 overs. The chief wrecker was Keerti Ratan from Sand Diamonds, who rattled the rivals with an impressive spell of 4/8 in 3 overs damaging the batting line up of the opponent majorly. He was supported well by Shani Verma, who picked 3 more wickets resulting in early collapse of Shazar Kings.
Sand Diamonds won the final with a huge margin of 80 runs against Shazar Kings in BPL Season -2 2018.
Mohit Singh from Sand Diamonds was awarded as the player of the match for his significant contribution.
