Murlidhar Group Ayojit Ratri Prakash Open Tennis Cricket Tournament 2018 was organised between 15th Nov.’18 to 21st Dec.’18 at Jamjodhpur.
117 teams from various cities participated in this much celebrated tournament from which, an all-important final was played between DX XI Sihan and Royal XI Jamnagar on 20th Dec.’18 at Isvariya Cricket Ground- Jamjodhpur.
Electing to bat, DX XI Sihanplayed and excellent innings and posted a big score of 158 runs in 14 overs by losing 5 wickets. Team started well with both opening batsmen Rahul Der and Dhaval scoring 37 and 11 runs respectively at fast pace. It was followed by wonderful innings by Asif Shekh, who smashed 54 runs off 24 balls with 3 boundaries and 5 sixes. Almost all the players contributed well for the final scores, which helped team put up a good score for the final clash. None of the bowlers from Royal XI Jamnagar managed to restrict the run-flow of DX XI.
While replying, opening batsman Kirtirajsinh Vadher and Ankit Patel scored 21 and 14 runs respectively giving Royal XI Jamnagar a good start. Javed Sanji too added useful 32 runs at fast rate helping team maintain the pace. However, wickets started to fall at regular intervals after his dismissal as most of the remaining players failed to stay strong on crease for a long time. Despite trying well, Royal XI Jamnagar closed their innings at the score of 140 runs in 14 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. Mahipalsinh Chavda and Naimish Ambaliya from DX XI Sihan bowled well and succeeded in picking up 3 wickets each restricting the opponent from reaching at the target. Nikunj Vadodariya too contributed well as in chipped in with 2 important wickets in crucial overs.
DX XI Sihan registered an 18 run win over Royal XI Jamnagar in the final of Murlidhar Group Ayojit Ratri Prakash Open Tennis Cricket Tournament 2018.
