EISB Champions Trophy 2018 was organized between 6th Dec.’18 to 18th Dec.’18 at Bengaluru.
20 teams from various schools participated in this much celebrated tournament from which, the crucial final was played between DPS North and DPS South on 18th Dec.’18 at EISB- Bengaluru.
Electing to bat, DPS North played well and posted a competitive score of 188 runs in 30 overs by losing 6 wickets. Though team faced some early blows, Captain Dhruv Dimri, who came to bat on 3rd position gave team a much needed boost by smashing 71 runs off 62 balls with 9 boundaries and 2 sixes. Hari Rajiv supported him well from the other end by adding useful 48 runs at fast rate helping team reach at a strong position. Pick of the bowlers was Sathvik KC from DPS South, who scalped 3 wickets in 5 overs.
While replying, DPS South got a good start with both opening batsmen Aadesh Urs and Harshit Dharmani scoring 31 and 28 runs respectively at fast rate. However, the key contributor was Anirudh Choudhary, who made 65 runs off 43 runs with 3 boundaries and 5 sixes. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, DPS South gave a very good fight till the last over but fell short by just 6 runs from reaching at the target. They ended up scoring 182 runs in 30 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.
DPS North won a nail-biting final by 6 runs against DPS South in EISB Champions Trophy 2018.
Dhruv Dimri from DPS North was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
