MSPGCL Cricket Tournament 2018 organized by MSPGCL and CSTPS was played between 7th Dec.’18 and 12th Dec.’18 at Chandrapur.
11 teams from different cities participated in this much celebrated tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Paras TPS and Parli TPS on 12th Dec.’18 at ORC Ground- Chandrapur.
Electing to bat, Paras TPS did not manage to get a good start and wickets started to fall from early wickets. Most of the players failed to go beyond single digits and team ended up scoring 78 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. The only players, who reached to double digit scores were Ravi Pawar and Prashant Sabale with 23 and 15 runs respectively. All the bowlers from Parli TPS performed well as they picked up wickets at regular intervals restricting opponent team from scoring well. Pick of the lot was Govind, who picked 2 wickets in 4 overs giving only 10 runs.
While replying, despite facing some early blows Parli TPS continued to score at regular pace and managed to reach at the target in 15.4 overs by losing 6 wickets. Highest contributor was Tukaram Patil with 14 runs. However, other players too contributed significantly in achieving the target. Pick of the bowlers was Nikhil Burde from Paras TPS, who picked 3 wickets in 3.4 overs.
Parli TPS won the final of MSPGCL Cricket Tournament 2018 by 4 wickets against Paras TPS.
Chandrakant Kohale from Parli TPS was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
