Amara Raja Premier League 2018 was played between 14th Oct.’18 to 9th Dec.’18 at Tripuati.
Out of the 16 participant teams, an all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Marigold and Tulip XL on 9th Dec.’18 at S.V. Agriculture College Ground- Tirupati.
Tulip XL won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision didn’t go well for them and they failed to restrict Marigold from scoring well. Marigold had a good start with opening batsman Anudeep smashing 46 runs off 43 balls with 2 boundaries. Other players too contributed significantly and team reached a competitive score of 123 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Sharath Babu J from Tulip XL, who picked 2 wickets 3 overs.
While chasing, Captain C Rajashekhar Naidu gave Tulip XL a good start by scoring 27 runs at fast pace. However, the other players did not manage to score beyond 10’s and team collapsed making 109 runs in 19.5 overs. Bowling highlight of the innings was M.B. Suresh from Marigold, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs. Muni Raja and S Sree Harsha too bowled well and picked 2 wickets each restricting opponent from reaching at the target.
Marigold won the final of Amara Raja Premier League 2018 by 14 runs against Tulip XL.
Anudeep from Marigold was awarded as the player of the match.
