VV Jacks Memorial Trophy, which was started on 2nd Jul’17 at Tuticorin (Tamil Nadu) had its final on 26th Aug’17 at Port Trust Ground. It was played between two promising teams of the tournament – Youngstar and Ramesh Flowers Limited.
The final started with Youngstar choosing to bat first after winning the toss. Ramesh Flowers Limited’s aggressive bowling restricted all the players of Youngstar from scoring well. None of the players managed to stand for long. Wickets started to fall from the very first over and Youngstar failed to put up a good target for the opponent team. Entire team collapsed in 24.3 overs by scoring only 83 runs.
While chasing the target of 84 runs, Ramesh Flowers Limited did not have very a good start. Though the team lost their 2 wickets in first 5 overs, stable partnership between Hayaz (23) and S.P. Nathan (25) steered them towards the final win. Since the target was not difficult to defend, the team reached to the final score of 84 runs in 10 overs.
Ramesh Flowers Limited won the title of VV Jacks Memorial Trophy 2017 defeating Youngstar by 6 wickets.
