The final of Belmont independence Day T20 Trophy 2017 was organized at National College Ground, Thiruchirapalli on 25th Aug’17. It was a thrilling match between National College of Arts and Science and JJCET.
National College of Arts and Science won the toss and decided to bat first. The team had a strong batting line up, which helped them to reach to a good score of 152 runs at the end of 20 overs. The highest scorer was C. Karthik, who scored 31 runs in just 14 balls. Pick of the bowlers was Saravanan from JJCET, who took 2 important wickets in 2 overs.
While defending, JJCET too has performed well. The team had a good start and most of the players have performed well in the final innings. Despite losing the wickets at regular intervals, JJCET was steadily moving ahead towards the target. However, the team did not manage to score at required pace in last few overs and lost final by just 1 run.
National College of Arts and Science was crowned as champions of Belmont independence Day T20 Trophy 2017.
