One of the most celebrated tournaments of CBCA- Reliance Foundation Inter School Tournament (Multiday) 2018-19 was organized between 1st Oct.’18 to 2nd Dec.’18 at Ahmedabad.
15 teams from various schools of Ahmedabad participated in this tournament from which, the 2 days final was played between Seventh Day School and Delhi Public School on 1st and 2nd Dec.’18 at Shivay- The Cricketing Hub.
Electing to bat, Seventh Day School played an extraordinary innings and posted a mammoth score of 393 runs at the end of 1st innings. Almost all the players performed extremely well where, the highest run-getter was Deep, who scored 57 runs in 37 balls with 3 boundaries and 7 sixes. With all the players contributing significantly, team managed to put up a big score for the final clash in their 1st innings. Nishchalsingh Ohlan from Delhi Public School shone with ball as he picked 4 important wickets.
While replying, Delhi Public School did not get a chance to settle as Rushik Patel from Seventh Day School scalped 8 wickets and bundled them up in 157 runs in their first innings. The key contributor was Dev Shodhan, who scored 70 runs off 86 balls single handedly.
Seventh Day School started their 2nd innings with the lead of 236 runs. Team got a stable start with both the opening batsmen scoring Harsh Thakkar and Gaur Yashvendra scoring 33 and 29 runs respectively. Team performed well and added 202 runs at the end of 2nd innings. Highest scorer was Pathak Atul, who added 40 runs in 36 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Pick of the bowlers were Nishchalsingh Ohlan and Vrenyam Singh Ohlan from Delhi Public School with 3 and 4 wickets respectively.
With the huge target of 438 runs, Delhi Public School never got a chance to recover and collapsed making 168 runs. The highest contributor was Paaji with 49 runs. Pick of the bowlers was Sheth Abhishek from Seventh Day School bowled extremely well and picked 4 important wickets, where in Rushik Patel picked 3 more to his tally.
Rushik Patel's 11-wicket haul and his team's outstanding batting performance was more than enough for Seventh Day School to register a 270-run win over Delhi Public School (DPS) as they crowned champions of the Reliance Foundation Inter School Tournament (Multiday) 2018-19
