PGVCL Inter Circle Cricket Tournament 2018- organized by PGVCL Anjar Circle was played between 21st Nov.’18 to 27th Nov.’18 at Gandhidham.
13 teams from various cities participated in this much celebrated tournament, from which the final was played between Rajkot City Circle and Bhuj Circle on 27th Nov.’18 at IFFCO Uday Nagar- Gandhidham.
Electing to bat, Rajkot City Circle played a very good innings and put up a good score of 212 runs in 40 overs by losing 9 wickets. Team started well with opening batsman V.M.Joshi scoring 50 runs off 55 balls with 6 boundaries. The other major contributor was K.J. Makwana, who added 46 runs at fast pace. Almost all the players contributed well for the final score. Bowling highlight of the innings was N.M.Gadhavi from Bhuj Circle, who scalped 4 wickets in 8 overs giving 32 runs.
While chasing, despite of facing some early blows, Bhuj Circle gave a very good fight and chased down the target in 39.3 overs. N. M. Gadhavi shined again with bat as he smashed unbeaten 90 runs in 73 balls with 9 boundaries and 2 fours leading team straight to the victory. M.M Sama too supported well from other end and added useful 29 runs during crucial overs helping team achieve the target in last over. Team reached at the score of 215 runs in 39.3 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was V.M. Joshi from Rajkot City Circle, who picked 4 important wickets in 6 overs giving only 23 runs, which made the target difficult to achieve for Bhuj Circle.
Bhuj Circle registered a 2 wicket win over Rajkot City Circle in the final of PGVCL Inter Circle Tournament 2018.
N.M. Gadhavi from Bhuj Circle was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
