People at YSRR-ACA Stadium-Kadapa witnessed an outstanding performance by E. Dharani Kumar Naidu from Chittoor District U-16 team , who remained not out in both his innings scoring 158 and 100 runs respectively.
The match was played between Chittoor District U-16 and Krishna U-16 on 19th Aug’17. Though the match was drawn, Chittoor District U-16 marched ahead on the basis of their 1st innings lead.
Chittoor District U-16 elected to bat first after winning the toss. Though all the players did not contribute much to the score, E. Dharani Kumar Naidu’s steady 158 runs with 27 boundaries helped the team to close their innings at 249 runs.
Effective bowling by Deepak Ramanuja, K.Karan Kannan and K.N. Lalithkumar restricted the opponent team at a very low score (150 runs) giving Chittoor District U-16 the lead of 99 runs in their first innings.
During the 2nd innings when the opening batsmen failed to score against Krishna U-16, E. Dharani Kumar Naidu struck 100 runs in 139 balls. This led Chittoor District U-16 to a reasonable score of 187 runs.
The match was drawn as Krishna U-16 reached 105 runs in their 2nd innings with no loss at the end of the day.
