Shrimali Brahmin Samaj Silver Jubilee World Cup Cricket Tournament 2018- Organized by Rajasthan Shrimali Brahmin Samaj- Ahmedabad was played between 13th Nov.’18 to 17th Nov.’18 at Ahmedabad.
12 teams from various cities participated in this heavily followed tournament from which, an all-important final was played between Mumbai Shrimali Brahmin Cricket Team and Ahmedabad Shrimali Brahmin Yuva Cricket Club on 17th Nov.’18 at H.L.C.C. Ground- Ahmedabad.
Electing to bat, Mumbai Shrimali Brahmin Cricket Team did not manage to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. Though Captain Yashpal Thakar, who came to bat on 5th position played an excellent innings and smashed 52 runs off 45 balls with 5 boundaries and 1 six. However, other players did not manage to score well and most of them were dismissed in single digits. Mumbai Shrimali Brahmin Cricket Team ended up scoring 117 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing all the wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Nandan Dave from Ahmedabad Shrimali Brahmin Yuva Cricket Club, who took 2 important wickets in 4 overs giving 16 runs.
While replying, Ahmedabad Shrimali Brahmin Yuva Cricket Club too failed in getting a good start. But a stable partnership between Captain Manan Vyas and Deepak Trivedi, who scored 36 and 31 runs respectively helped team reach at the target in 19.5 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. Rahul Trivedi and Shravan Vyas from Mumbai Shrimali Brahmin Cricket Team bowled really well and picked 2 wickets each restricting Ahmedabad Shrimali Brahmin Yuva Cricket Club from reaching at the target easily.
Ahmedabad Shrimali Brahmin Yuva Cricket Club won the final of Shrimali Brahmin Samaj Silver Jubilee World Cup Tournament 2018 by 5 wickets against Mumbai Shrimali Brahmin Cricket Team.
