Doxa Cricket League 2018 was organized between 30th Sep.’18 to 18th Nov.’18 at New Delhi.
Out of the 9 participant teams, an all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played between Doxa Strike Force and Doxa Panthers on 18th Nov.’18 at St. Xavier’s School Raj Niwas Marg - New Delhi.
Doxa Panthers won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they managed to pick wickets at regular intervals restricting Doxa Strike Force from putting up a big score. The highest scorers were Vineet Vidge and Ashim Badhwar, who scored 21 and 23 runs respectively at fast pace. Kamal Nayan Tiwari too added useful 19 runs off 25 balls that helped team reach at a decent score for the final. Since other players did not manage to go beyond single digits, team collapsed at the score of 107 runs in 19.2 overs. Almost all the bowlers of Doxa Panthers performed well but pick of the lot was Abhishek Gautam with 3 wickets. He was supported well by Jatin Arora and Sachin Chawla, who picked 2 wickets each hampering the batting line up of Doxa Strike Force terribly.
While chasing, it has been a smooth sailing for Doxa Panthers as both opening batsmen Varun Gupta and Jatin Arora made unbeaten 57 and 41 runs respectively leading team towards the final win without any struggle. Team reached at the score of 108 runs in just 14.1 overs with no loss.
Doxa Panthers registered a glorious 10 wicket win over Doxa Strike Force in the final of Doxa Cricket League 2018.
Varun Gupta from Doxa Panthers was awarded as the player of the match for his excellent contribution.
