One of the most cherished tournaments of Jaipur- HPL U-14 Champions Cup 2018 was organized between 10th Nov.’18 to 17th Nov.’18.
Out of the 4 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Orange Tigers and Blue Tigers on 17th Nov.’18 at Lakshya Cricket Stadium- Jaipur.
Blue Tigers won the toss and chose to field. The decision seemed to go wrong for them as Orange Tigers played an excellent innings and put up a big score of 255 runs for the final chase. Team started off with an excellent opening partnership between Manan Singh Shekhavat and Rohan Rajbhar scoring 64 and 116 runs respectively leading team to a dominating position from the beginning. Their wonderful contribution of 190 runs for first wicket helped team reach at a huge score of 255 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 4 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Jatin Saini from Blue Tigers with 3 wickets.
While replying, Blue Tigers too started will with both opening batsmen Garvit Bhardwaj and Manay Kataria scoring 44 and 61 respectively at stable pace. Mohit Bhagtani too contributed well and added unbeaten 50 runs off 60 balls with 4 boundaries taking team close to the target. However, despite trying really well team did not manage to score at required pace ended up scoring 197 runs at the end of 50 overs by losing 6 wickets.
Orange Tigers registered a glorious 58 run win over Blue Tigers in the final of HPL U-14 Champions Cup 2018.
Rohan Rajbhar from Orange Tigers was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
