Momden Cricket Cup 2018 - organized by Momden Cricket Club was played between 8th Nov.’18 to 16th Nov.’18 at Balotra.
Out of the 13 participant teams, an all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was played between SS Royals and KKR Club on 15th Nov.’18 at Balotra.
Electing to bat, SS Royals played a wonderful innings and posted a very good score of 155 runs at the end of 16 overs by losing 7 wickets. Yasin Bhai Moyla was the key contributor, who batted extremely well and smashed 80 runs off just 38 balls with 1 boundary and 9 sixes helping team reach at a big score for the final battle. Other players too contributed well and scored at fast rate, which helped team reach at a score of 155 runs in 16 overs. None of the bowlers from KKR Club managed to restrict the run-flow of SS Royals, however, Afsar Khan succeeded in picking up 2 important wickets.
While replying, KKR Club too played equally well and gave fight till the last over. Though team failed to get a good start, Ab Altaf, who came to bat on fifth position played an amazing innings and added unbeaten 74 runs single handedly in 38 balls leading team to a strong position. Despite trying really well, team fell short of just 4 runs and closed their innings at the score of 151 runs at the end of 16 overs by losing 8 wickets. It was a thrilling match till the last over, which went in favour of SS Royals towards the end as team lost some important wickets in last few overs. Firoj Khan from SS Royals played an important role in their victory as he managed to scalp 3 important wickets during crucial overs. Mohammed Shakil too chipped in with 2 wickets resulting in slow pace in last 2 overs.
SS Royals won an exciting final by 4 runs against KKR Club in Momden Cricket Club 2018.
Yasin Bhai Moyla from SS Royals was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
