The final of Girimala Cricket Association U-19 was held at Nalanda Genius Cricket Ground-Modasa on 12th Aug’17. It was a crucial final for both Arvalli Hill and Arvalli Lion as both the teams had been equally strong throughout the tournament.
Arvalli Lion won the toss and decided to field first. Opening batsman of Arvalli Hill failed to give them a good start. None of the players managed to reach to the score of 20 runs in the innings. Ranawat Yuvrajsingh from Arvalli Lion bowled exceptionally well and took 3 important wickets in 4 overs by giving only 16 runs. Wickets fell in quick succession and the team crumbled in just 92 runs at the end of 18.2 overs.
While chasing the target of 93 runs, Arvalli Lion lost their first wicket in the early overs. However, the remaining players did well and steadily added to the score. Bilal Malek, Ketul Suthar and Akhalak Bula, who scored at a good pace added 36, 14 and 18 runs respectively steered the team to the final win. The bowling performance of Arvalli Hill had been disappointing. They gave 17 extra runs in the innings, which helped Arvalli Lion in reaching to the target easily. The team achieved the target in just 11.3 overs by losing 3 wickets.
Arvalli Lion won the final of Girimala Cricket Association U-19 by 7 wickets.
