Manish Patil Memorial Cup - 2018 Under -19 State Level Leather Ball Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 19th Oct.’18 to 4th Nov.’18.
Out of 20 participant teams, the crucial final of this much celebrated tournament was played between City 11 Raichur and Captains 11 Ballari.
Electing to bat, City 11 Raichur played a wonderful inning and posted a good score of 204 runs in 25 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. The major contribution came from the Captain Ajay Gouda, who single handedly scored unbeaten 92 runs in 72 balls with 7 boundaries and 4 sixes. He was supported well by Vijay Reddy from the other end, who added useful 52 runs off 32 balls helping team put up a big score for the final. None of the bowlers from Captains 11 Ballari managed to restrict the run-flow of City 11 Raichur, however, Satvik managed to pick 2 important wickets.
While chasing, Captains 11 Ballari did not manage to score at required pace and started to lose wickets at regular intervals. Most of the players were dismissed within 20’s apart from T. Chiranjeevi, who played extremely well and scored unbeaten 51 in 49 balls. However, since other players failed to prove their mettle, team ended up scoring 122 runs at the end of 25 overs by losing 8 wickets. Ajay Gouda from City 11 Raichur shone again with bowling as well, as he picked 2 wickets in 3 overs. Mari Basava too chipped in with 2 important wickets damaging the batting line up of Captain 11 Ballari badly.
City 11 Raichur registered a huge 82 run win over Captains 11 Ballari in the final of Manish Patil Memorial Cup - 2018 Under -19 State Level Leather Ball Cricket Tournament 2018 .
