Presidents Cup 2018 organized by Cricket Association of Mizoram was organized between 16th Oct.’18 to 2nd Nov.’18 at Aizawl.
Out of the 31 participant teams, an all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played between Chanmarians Cricket Club and Bawngkawn South Cricket Club on 2nd Nov.’18 at Durtlang ground, Aizawl.
Bawngkawn South Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they restricted Chanmarians Cricket Club at a meager score of 77 runs in 15.3 overs. Highest scorer was Reuben Lalhruaizela, who scored 22 runs off 22 balls with 4 boundaries. The other 2 contributors were Zoremliana and Lalhriatrenga with 16 and 18 runs respectively. The rest of the players were dismissed in single digits resulted in a low score. Pick of the bowlers was Tc Laledenthara, who scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs by giving only 12 runs. Joseph Laltanpuia Sailo and R.LALHLIMPUIA chipped in with 2 wickets each demolishing the batting line up of Chanmarians Cricket Club completely.
While chasing, despite facing some early blows Bawngkawn South Cricket Club managed to chase the target in 18 overs. The key contributor was P LIANCHAMA, who scored 23 runs in 23 balls during crucial overs, which helped team reach at the target comfortably. Though other players failed to prove their mettle, team reached at the score of 78 runs by losing 7 wickets. Reuben Lalhruaizela from Chanmarians Cricket Club picked 3 wickets in 4 overs, which made the target more difficult for Bawngkawn South Cricket Club.
Bawngkawn South Cricket Club registered a 3 wicket win over Chanmarians Cricket Club in the final of Presidents Cup 2018.
Tc Laledenthara from Bawngkawn South Cricket Club was awarded as the player of the match for his excellent contribution.
