R.R. Hyderabad Premier League 2018 was organized between 8th Oct.’18 to 22nd Oct.’18 at Hyderabad.
8 teams from various verticals participated in this much cherished tournament, from which the final was played between Sagar XI and R.C.C. on 22nd Oct.’18 at KLR Ground- Hyderabad.
Electing to bat, Sagar XI played an excellent innings with most of the players scoring at fast pace. Opening batsman Chand Pasha gave team a wonderful start as he smashed 59 runs off 26 balls with 11 boundaries and 1 six. He was supported well from the other end by Prateek Pawar, who added 47 runs in 31 balls taking team to a strong position. The other major contributors were Navar Anirudh Reddy and Vinay Goud with 34 and 18 runs respectively. Despite of losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to posted a big score of 191 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Shubham Srivas, who picked 3 wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, R.C.C. started to fumble from early overs. Most of the players failed to stay strong on field for long and were dismissed in single digits resulted in slow pace. Shoeb Bajubair was the highest scorer, who made 45 runs off 31 balls with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. The other players, who managed to reach 20’s were Shabbir and Nadeem Sha with 20 and 25 runs respectively. Since majority of the players failed to deliver, team ended up scoring 138 runs at the end of 20 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Yashwanth Reddy, who scalped 4 wickets in 4 overs hampering batting line up of R.C.C majorly. Yousuf Bin Ateef too bowled well and picked 2 important wickets in 3 overs giving 11 runs only.
Sagar XI registered a glorious 53 run win over R.C.C in the final of R.R. Hyderabad Premier League 2018.
