Saurashtra Cricket Tournament (MB) Season- 12 2018 was organized between 17th Sep.18 to 16th Oct.’18 at Rajkot.
Out of 17 participant teams, an all important final of this much cherished tournament was played between GJ XI and South Africa Surendranagar on 16th Oct.’18 at Raj Samdhiyala Cricket Ground- Rajkot.
Electing to bat, GJ XI played a wonderful innings and scored at fast pace. Captain Pratik Mandalia played extremely well and smashed 61 runs off 39 balls with 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. He was supported well from the other end by Abhal Karetha, who added 44 runs in 28 balls taking team to a good score of 152 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 2 wickets.
While replying, South Africa Surendranagar failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Krishnakant Pathak, who came to bat on 3rd position batted well and added useful 38 runs in just 12 balls taking team to a stable position. The other major contributor was Jeet Goel, whose unbeaten 29 runs helped team give a good fight in crucial overs. Despite trying well, team failed to score at required pace and collapsed making 128 runs in 19.3 overs. The chief wrecker was Moin Balapariya from GJ XI, who picked 4 wickets in 4 overs giving 13 runs.
GJ XI registered a 24 run victory over South Africa Surendranagar in the final of Saurashtra Cricket Tournament (MB) Season-12 2018.
Pratik Mandalia from GJ XI was Awarded as the player of the match.
