ACL 2018 was organized between 8th Aug.’18 to 8th Oct.’18 at Thiruvananthapuram.
Out of the 7 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Dark Horses and Ferocious Falcons on 8th Oct.’18 at M Square Ground Technopark- Thiruvananthapuram.
Ferocious Falcons won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they managed to restrict Dark Horses at the low score of 67 runs at the end of 15 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. No one except Jijo Goerge manage to make a mark and were dismissed in single digits. Jijo Goerge was the highest scorer, who made 31 runs out of the total score of 67 runs. Bowling highlight of the innings was Chikku Jacob from Ferocious Falcons, who scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs by giving only 7 runs. Unni Krishnan too bowled well and chipped in with 2 important wickets restricting Dark Horses from scoring well.
While replying, Ferocious Falcons failed to display the same performance in batting and ended up scoring 62 runs in 15 overs by losing 8 wickets. None of the players managed to stay strong for long against the effective bowling attack from Dark Horses. Chikku Jacob was the highest scorer with 18 runs. Most of the players within 10’s and team fell short by 5 runs from winning the final. Pick of the bowlers was Sreekanth Balan from Dark Horses with 2 wickets in 3 overs.
It was a close win for Dark Horses, who won the final by 5 runs against Ferocious Falcons in the final of ACL 2018.
