Royal Bangalore Cricket Cup (Monsoon Edition-1) was played between 4th Aug.’18 to 7th Oct.’18 at Bengaluru.
Out of the 22 participant teams, an all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played between SLS and Target Cruzers on 7th Oct.’18 at Hyper Turf Cricket Ground- Bengaluru.
Electing to bat, SLS got a good start with opening batsman Chethan KL scoring 25 runs at fast pace. It was followed by and outstanding innings by Captain Abhijit, who smashed 84 runs in 47 balls with 9 boundaries and 4 sixes. He was supported well from the other end by Akhil, who added helpful 51 runs at fast pace taking team to the dominating position. SLS put up a big score of 205 runs at the end of 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. None of the bowlers from Target Cruzers managed to restrict the run-flow of SLS, however, Vishnu Jain succeeded in picking up 3 wickets.
While replying, Target Cruzers too started well with Anuraj scoring 21 runs off 14 balls. Mohit too played well from the other ended and added useful 46 runs in 22 balls with 6 boundaries and 3 sixes. However, after Manjunath Prasad’s dismissal, who scored 32 runs at fast rate, none of the remaining players manage to deliver as required and team collapsed making 139 runs in 17.5 overs. Deepak Gowda from SLS was the chief wrecker, who rattled the rival boat by 7/14 in just 3.5 overs was the main reason behind Target Cruzers early collapse.
SLS registered a glorious 66 runs win over Target Cruzers in the final of Royal Bangalore Cricket Cup (Monsoon Edition-1) 2018.
