Much awaited final of Rajpath-Kunwarji Summer Cricket League 2017 was held at Rajpath Club, Ahmedabad on 9th July 2017. After fighting hard for many matches, it was the final clash between Rising XI and Falcon for winning the tournament.
Rising XI elected to bat first after winning the toss. Team had a poor start as they lost their 3 wickets within first 5 overs. However, Vishal Jariwala’s and Ayush Modi’s stable partnership brought the team at the reasonable score of 90 runs in 17.3 overs. Kushal Shah’s tremendous bowling bundled up the whole team at not very difficult to defend target of 99 runs at the end of 20 overs.
While chasing the target of 100 runs, Falcon had a very good start and reached to the score of 50 runs in just 9.2 overs without losing any wicket. The match quite looked in favor of the team till that point of time. Falcon lost its first wicket in form of Shivang patel and it was the turning point for the team. Wickets fell in quick succession after that. Though remaining players tried to cover up the damage, they did not manage to add up to the score at required pace. Aayush Modi from Rising XI bowled extremely well and took 4 important wickets damaging the batting line up of Falcon completely.
It was a thrilling match till the last over and Rising XI won the final by 4 runs.
