One of the most celebrated tournaments of Doda- Chhattiana & Doda Premier League 2018 was organized between 12th Aug.’18 and 30th Sep.’18.
Out of the 9 participant teams, the crucial final of this heavily followed tournament was played between Doda Blasters and Chhattiana Lions on 30th Sep.’18 at High School Grounds Chhattiana- Doda.
Electing to bat, Doda Blasters started well with opening batsman Rajbahadar Brar scoring 38 runs off 34 balls with 7 boundaries. It was followed by a good innings by Jarnail Doda, who added useful 35 runs in 39 balls. With majority of the players contributing well, team posted a decent score of 125 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Goldy Rupana from Chhattiana Lions with 2 wickets.
While chasing, opening batsman Sajan Rupana gave Chattiana Lions a wonderful start by smashing 65 runs off 54 balls with 8 boundaries. He was supported well from the other end by Captain Lakhwinder, who scored unbeaten 46 runs at fast pace leading his team towards victory. Team chased down the target of 126 runs in 19 overs by losing 2 wickets.
Chhattiana Lions won the final of Chhattiana & Doda Premier League 2018 against Doda Blasters by 8 wickets.
Sajan Rupana from Chhattiana Lions was awarded as the player of the match.
