Veer Teja Premier Leage (ITAWA) 2018 was organized between 14th Sep.’18 to 19th Sep.’18 at Kishangarh Ranwal.
20 teams from different cricket clubs participated in this much cherished tournament from which, an interesting final was played between Shobharaj Cricket Club Govindgarh and Veer Teja Club Itawa (Senior) on 19th Sep.’18 at Veer Teja Cricket Stadium- Kishangarh Ranwal.
Electing to bat, Shobharaj Cricket Club Govindgarh played a good innings and posted a good score of 144 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Opening batsman Rakesh Kumawat gave team a good start as he scored 35 runs off 19 balls with 8 boundaries. Vijay too supported him well from the other end by adding 29 runs at fast pace taking team at a stable position. It was followed by a strong innings by Faizan, who added 38 runs in 35 balls and remained unbeaten. Pick of the bowlers was Ramesh Pran from Veer Teja Club Itawa with 2 wickets.
While replying, Veer Teja Club Itawa (Senior) gave an excellent fight till the last over with most of the players contributing well in the final chase. Highest scorers were Jugal Yadav and Vikas Jangid with 38 and 22 runs respectively. Despite trying really well, team fell short of 5 runs from reaching at the target and ended up scoring 139 runs at the end of 20 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. Faizan from Shobharaj Cricket Club Govindgarh played an important role in Veer Teja Club Itawa’s defeat as he picked 3 important wickets during crucial overs damaging the batting line up of the opponent badly.
Shobharaj Cricket Club Govindgarh won a nail-biting final by 5 runs against Veer Teja Club Itawa (Senior) in the final of Veer Teja Premier League (ITAWA) 2018.
Faizan from Shobharaj Cricket Club Govindgarh was awarded as player of the match for his excellent contribution.
