6 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament, from which the final was played between Chandigarh Police and Technocrats on 16th Sep.’18 at DPWS Nipuns Will 2 Win Cricket Ground- Zirakpur.
Electing to bat, Chandigarh Police failed to get a good start and wickets started to fall from early overs. Opening batsman Balwinder Jr tried well and scored 18 runs off 19 balls with 3 boundaries. He was supported well from the other end by Ramandeep, who added helpful 25 runs in 29 balls helpeing team reach at a decent score. None of the other players managed to go beyond 10’s and closed the innings in 96 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing all the wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Satish from Technocrats, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs giving only 15 runs restricting opponent team from scoring well.
While chasing, Technocrats gave a good fight till the last over but fell short of just 7 runs from reaching at the target. Highest contributors were Rohit and Abhay Kaushal with 19 runs each. However, team failed to maintain the pace and ended up scoring 89 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 10 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Balwinder Jr from Chandigarh Police with 3 wickets.
