1st Asian Sr. Women’s T-20 Championship 2018 - organized by AWTCA was played between 10th Sep.’18 to 15th Sep.’18 at Jaipur.
Teams from India, Bangladesh and Nepal have participated in this tournament, from which the crucial final was played between Bangladesh and AWTCA India on 14th Sep.’18 at NCA Cricket Ground- Jaipur.
Team Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat. Team played a good innings and made 106 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. Highest contributor was Ishnaa Tanjim, who scored 42 runs off 52 balls with 4 boundaries. The other contribution came from Jannatol Fendos and Shaila, who added 33 and 21 runs respectively helping team reach at a decent score. Bowling highlight of the innings was Praveen Khan from AWTCA India, who scalped 3 important wickets in 4 overs restricting opponent from putting up a big score.
While replying, AWTCA started to fumble from early overs. None of the players managed to stay strong on crease for long as most of the them were dismissed in single digits. Team ended up scoring 76 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. Highest scorer was Shreen Khan with 23 runs. Almost all the bowlers of Team Bangladesh performed well but pick of the lot was Shaila, who picked 2 wickets in 4 overs giving only 8 runs.
Bangladesh won the final of 1st Asian Sr. Women’s T-20 Championship 2018 by 30 runs against AWTCA India.
Shaila from Bangladesh was awarded as a player of the match for her excellent contribution.
