GS Summer Cup 2018 was organized between 29th Apr.’18 to 2nd Sep.’18 at Bengaluru.
27 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Capita Integrity 11 and Phoenix Cricket Club at Global Village Tech Park Ground- Bengaluru on 2nd Sep.’18.
Phoenix Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Capita Integrity 11 started extremely well with opening batsman Madhu smashing 80 runs off 61 balls with 8 boundaries and 2 sixes. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Capita Integrity 11 posted a good score of 142 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing all wickets. None of the bowlers from Phoenix Cricket Club managed to restrict the run-flow of opponent team, however, Babu Raj succeeded in picking up 2 important wickets during crucial overs.
While replying, Phoenix Cricket Club failed to score at required pace from the beginning. Opening batsman Suresh UV scored 43 off 52 balls, which gave team a stable start. Sai TPVK too played a good innings and added 34 runs in 18 balls with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. However, team went on losing the wickets at regular intervals, which reduced their pace and they ended up scoring 127 runs in 19.4 overs with the loss of all wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Santosh Bhardwaj from Capita Integrity 11, who took 3 important wickets in 4 overs restricting Phoenix Cricket Club from reaching at the target.
Capita Integrity 11 won the final of GS Summer Cup 2018 by 15 runs against Phoenix Cricket Club.
Madhu from Capita Integrity 11 was awarded as the player of the match for his massive contribution.
The award ceremony was graced by Mr.Akram and Mr. Hidayath as chief guests at Global Tech Park.
