RGU Of Health Sciences Gulbarga Zone Cricket Tournament 2018- organized by Navodaya Dental College Raichur was played between 20th Aug.’18 to 28th Aug.’18 at Raichur.
18 teams from various colleges participated in this much celebrated tournament. An all-important final of this much followed tournament was played between Navodaya Medical College Raichur and M R M College Gulbarga on 28th Aug.’15 at Navodaya College Ground- Raichur.
Electing to bat, Navodaya Medical College Raichur got a stable start with both the opening batsmen M V Chandan and Ashwath S.M scoring 29 and 49 runs respectively. However, wickets started to fall in regular intervals after their dismissal and none of the remaining players managed to contribute significantly for the final score. Team collapsed at the score of 146 runs in 24.2 overs. Dheeraj Chowdhary from M R M College Gulbarga bowled really well and picked 3 wickets in 4.2 overs restricting Navodaya Medical College Raichur from putting up a big score. Sagar Gour and Dr Anas Ansari too chipped in with 2 wickets each affecting batting line up of the opponent team terribly.
While chasing, M R M College Gulbarga failed to get a good start and lost few important wickets in early overs. Highest contributors were Sachin Halli and Dheeraj Chaudhary with 38 and 35 runs respectively. Despite trying well, team did not manage to score at required pace and ended up scoring 126 runs in 25 overs by losing 8 wickets. Almost all the bowlers of Navodaya Medical College Raichur performed well, but picke of the bowlers was Pavan, who scalped 2 wickets in 5 overs giving 20 runs.
Navodaya Medical College Raichur registered a 20 run win over M R M College Gulbarga in the final of RGU Of Health Sciences Gulbarga Zone Cricket Tournament 2018.
