Nightwatchman Sports Cricket League 2018 was organized between 9th Aug.’18 to 26th Aug.’18 at Bengaluru.
16 teams from various verticals participated in this much cherished tournament. An all-important final of this tournament was played between BCA (RC) and Y Nots (MCPL18) on 26th Aug.’18 at RWF- Bengaluru.
Y Nots won the toss and elected to field. They failed terribly in restricting BCA from scoring well as they managed to post a big score of 193 runs in 20 overs by losing 3 wickets. BCA got an excellent start as both opening batsmen Sachin and Sandeep scored 67 and 65 runs respectively at fast pace. Their strong partnership laid a strong foundation, which was followed by remaining players too, who scored significantly in putting up a high score.
After a wonderful show with bat, BCA came up with a strong bowling attack and Y Nots started to lose wickets from early overs while chasing the target of 194 runs. Despite giving a good fight, team fell short of 15 runs from reaching at the target. Highest run getter was Shyam Polaki with 36 runs . The other major contributors were Nivendru Gavaskar and Prayag Reddy Nallaveli, who scored 35 runs each at fast pace. However, none of the remaining players managed to go beyond 10’s and team crumbled making 178 runs in 19.5 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Anil from BCA, who picked 2 wickets in 3 overs.
BCA (RC) won the final of Nightwatchman Sports Cricket League 2018 by 15 runs against Y Nots (MCPL 18).
Sachin from BCA (RC) was awarded as the player of the match.
