Monsoon Cup (G-Nagar) 2018 was played between 7th July’18 to 11th Aug.’18 at Gandhinagar.
Out of the 8 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Notorious and GNC Risers on 11th Aug.’18 at Sector-15, Gandhinagar.
Notorious’ decision to bat after winning the toss didn’t go much in their favour as team started to lose wickets at regular intervals. None of the players managed to go beyond 10’s , where top run getter was Yash Mehta with 18 runs off 14 balls. Team posted an average score of 99 runs in 19.1 overs after losing all the wickets. Ashish Jadhav and Kakku from GNC Risers bowled well and picked 3 wickets each restricting the opponent at a low score.
After an average batting performance, Notorious did a strong come back with bowl and crushed GNC Risers in just 53 runs. Almost all the players were dismissed in single digits except Mayank Tiwari, who managed to pull 19 off 39 balls. Yash Mehta from Notorious shone again with his exceptional bowling skills as he scalped 3 wickets in 3.1 overs giving only 2 runs. Utkarsh too performed well and picked 3 wickets in 4 overs damaging the batting line up of GNC Risers completely.
Notorious registered a glorious 46 runs win over GNC Risers in low scoring final of Monsoon Cup (G-Nagar) 2018.
Yash Mehta from Notorious was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
