Bogund Champions League 2018 was organized between 5th Jun.’18 to 12th Aug.’18 at Kulgam.
57 teams from various verticals participated in this much celebrated tournament, from which the final was played between United Cricket Club Bogund and Arreh Stars on 12th Aug.’18 at Outgarden Bogund- Kulgam.
United Cricket Club Bogund won the toss and chose to bat. The decision did not go much in their favour as team started to lose wickets from early overs. However, a stable partnership between Fahmeeda Raju and Waseem Padder, who added 18 and 25 respectively at fast pace helped team reach at a reasonable score of 60 runs after losing all wickets. Nadeem and Asif Habbib from Arreh Stars bowled well and picked 2 wickets each restricting the opponent from putting up a big score.
While replying, despite an outstanding effort by Zahid Arreh Stars failed to achieve the target and fell short by just 4 runs. Zahid was the only player, who fought the lone battle and smashed 38 runs off 36 balls taking team very close to the final score. However, he failed to get support from the other end as none of the remaining players managed to go beyond single digit scores and team ended up scoring 56 runs in 12 overs by losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Dar Iqbal from United Cricket Club Bogund, who picked 2 wickets in 3 overs.
United Cricket Club Bogund won the final of Bogund Champions League 2018 by 4 runs against Arreh Stars.
