Held at Shikarbadi Cricket Ground, today’s match was expected to be an interesting fight between the winners of last two matches. Both Wonder Cricket Academy and Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Academy have displayed wonderful performances in their last matches defeating the opponents.
Match started with powerful batting inning by Wonder Cricket academy, which chose to bat after winning the toss. Impressive partnership between Nikhil Sachdev and Anirudh Singh Chauhan took the team straight to the score of 200 runs without any loss in 26.3 overs. Though wickets did fall at the regular intervals after that, the team still managed to add to its score with slow but steady pace. Pick of the bowlers for the inning was Bhavani Shankar Chaudhary who took 3 wicket by giving only 26 runs in 8 overs. Wonder Cricket Academy put up the massive target of 304 runs in 40 overs at the end the inning.
While defending, Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Academy tore apart from the beginning losing wickets in early overs of the match. Shubham Malhotra bowled remarkably well taking 3 wickets by giving 15 runs in 6 overs. The team did not get the chance to fight back due to efficient fielding and amazing bowling line up by Wonder Cricket Academy. Players from Rajiv Gandhi Academy, who have shown wonderful batting skills in the last match were not able to create the same magic resulted in the whole team collapsing at 135 runs in 30 overs.
Wonder Cricket Academy made its position strong in All India Wonder Cement U-16 cricket tournament by winning the match with huge margin of 168 runs.
