FPL Season- 5 2018 was organized between 9th Jul.’18 to 10th Aug.’18 at Chennai.
12 teams from various verticals participated in this tournament, from which an all-important final was played between Sachin 11 Star and Fort Kings XI on 10th Aug.’18 at Chennai Fort Ground.
Fort Kings XI won the toss and chose to field with an intention to restrict the opponent at low score. However, the things didn’t go as per the plan as Sachin 11 Star played a very good innings and posted a big score of 127 runs in 12 overs by losing 6 wickets. The strong partnership between opening batsman Prabha and Lokesh, who scored 42 and 35 runs respectively at fast rate took team to a strong position. Other players too contributed well and team managed to put up a good score in the final clash. Rakesh Rawal from Fort Kings XI was the pick of the bowlers, who picked 3 wickets in 2 overs giving 18 runs.
While chasing, Fort Kings XI failed to prove its mettle as none of the players managed to go beyond 10’s. Highest run-getters were Dharmesh and Harish with 17 and 16 runs respectively. Rest of the players were dismissed in single digits and team bundled up scoring 62 runs in 11.4 overs. All the bowlers of Sachin 11 Star performed really well but pick of the lot was Prasan, who scalped 3 wickets in 2.3 overs giving 13 runs. Prabha shined again with bowl as he too managed to pick 3 important wickets in 3 overs damaging the batting line up of Fort Kings XI completely.
Sachin 11 Star registered a glorious 65 run win over Fort Kings XI in the final of FPL Season-5 2018.
Prabha from Sachin 11 Star was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
