5th Raj Dalal Under-16 Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 21st Jun.’18 to 23rd Jul.’18 at Delhi.
8 teams from various academies participated in this tournament. An all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played on 23rd July’18 between B Haridas and W Delhi Cricket Academy at NSC Cricket Ground- New Delhi.
Electing to bat, B Haridas played a good innings and made 173 runs in 30 overs by losing 7 wickets. Top scorer was Arun Kumar with 62 runs. The other major contributors were Garv Sangwan and Vivek Singh, who scored 37 and 29 runs respectively at fast pace. Bowling highlight of the innings was Ikshit Khutel from W Delhi Cricket Academy, who picked 2 wickets in 6 overs.
While replying, W Delhi Cricket Academy started to fumble from early overs. None of the players managed to go beyond 20’s and team collapsed making 81 runs in 23.3 overs. Highest run-getter was Kaushal Suman with 28 runs. Almost all the bowlers of H Haridas performed well and restricted the opponent from reaching at the target. However, the pick of the lot was Suryakant, who scalped 3 wickets in 5 overs giving only 21 runs. Kamal Bairwa and Mayank Janghu too chipped in with 2 wickets each, which dismantled W Delhi Cricket Academy’s batting line up completely.
B Haridas displayed an all-round performance and registered a huge 92 run win over W Delhi Cricket Academy in the final of 5th Raj Dalal U-16 Cricket Tournament 2018.
Arun Kumar from B Haridas was awarded as the player of the match.
