Chinar Cricket Tournament 2018 was organized between 23rd Apr.’18 to 15th Jul.’18 at Handwara.
33 teams from different cities participated in this much celebrated tournament, from which the final was played between Spartans Club and BCC Bandipora on 15th Jul.’18 at Baki-Aker - Handwara.
Spartans Club won the toss and elected bat. Team started well with Mohd Shafi and Basit Dar having a stable partnership of 43 runs for 1st wicket. However, wickets fell in quick succession after Basit Dar’s dismissal and none of the remaining players managed to go beyond 10’s. Team collapsed making 107 runs in 18.5 overs. All the bowlers of BCC Bandipora performed really well but pick of the bowlers was Bilal Ahmed, who scalped 2 wickets in 4 overs giving 17 runs. Ishtiyaq Ellahi too chipped in with 2 important wickets restricting opponent from scoring well.
While chasing, it was a smooth sailing for BCC Bandipora as both opening batsmen Ishtiyaq Ellahi and Amir Ahmed scored 54 and 24 runs respectively at fast pace taking team to a strong position. Team managed to chase down the target in just 10.1 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.
BCC Bandipora recorded an easy 7 wicket win over Spartans Club in the final of Chinar Cricket Tournament 2018.
Ishtiyaq Ellahi from BCC Bandipora was awarded as the player of the match.
