One of the most prestigious tournaments of Rajasthan- Rajasthan Cricket Association U-19 Championship 2018 was organized between 25th Jun.’18 to 9th Jul.’18 at Bikaner.
34 teams from various cities of Rajasthan participated in this tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Team Udaipur and Team Bikaner from 7th Jul.’18 to 9th Jul.’18 at KL Saini Stadium- Jaipur.
After electing to bat, Team Bikaner played well and posted a reasonable score of 206 runs in the first innings. Nasir Khan and Abhishek Pratap Singh were the highest scorers with 49 and 47 runs respectively. Pradyuman Parikh from Team Udaipur bowled exceptionally well with 5/49 restricting Team Bikaner from putting up a big score.
While replying, Team Udaipur started really well with both the opening batsmen Nishant Sharma (and Dikshant Vairagi putting up a strong partnership of 117 runs for 1st wicket. Dikshant Vairagi posted a massive score of 200 runs contributing majorly in putting up a huge score of 485 runs at the end of their first innings. Samprit Joshi and Hitesh Patel too performed well and added 67 and 48 runs respectively helping team reach at a very good score. None of the bowlers from Team Bikaner managed to restrict the run-flow of Team Udaipur, however, Prateek Hada and Dinesh Choudhary succeeded in picking 3 wickets each.
Team Bikaner started 2nd innings with a 279 run deficit. However, team got a good start with opening batsman Amit Rajera scoring 97 runs steadily with 12 boundaries and 1 six. Dinesh Chaudhary and Prateek Hada too played well and contributed 75 and 50 runs respectively, which helped team reach at 319 runs at the end of their 2nd innings. Pick of the bowlers were Nikhil Shukla (3/43)and Pradyuman Parikh (2/59) respectively from Team Udaipur.
Team Udaipur required only 41 runs to win the final, which they managed to achieve in 6.1 overs by losing 2 wickets.
Hence, Team Udaipur recorded a glorious 8 wicket win over Team Bikaner in the final of Rajsthan Cricket Association U-19 Championship 2018.
Dikshant Vairagi from Team Udaipur was awarded as the player of the match.
