8th U-12 Challenger Trophy 2018 was organized between 23rd Jun.’18 to 7th Jul.’18 at Kanpur.
Out of the 10 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Matri Kripa and Zainy Fashion on 7th Jul.’18 at PAC Ground- Kanpur.
Electing to bat, Matri Kripa got a very good start with opening batsman Divyanshu Sahu scoring 75 runs off 69 balls with 10 boundaries. The other major contributor was Mod. Faiz, who added 35 runs in 13 balls with 7 boundaries. Team posted a good score of 168 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Prakhar Mishra from Zainy Fashion with 2 wickets.
While replying, Zainy Fashion too started well with Karunya Shukla scoring 43 runs at fast pace. However, other players failed to make a mark as none of them managed to go beyond 10’s and team ended up scoring 130 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. Almost all the bowlers of Matri Kripa performed well but pick of the lot was Divyanshu Chitranjan, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs giving 17 runs.
Matri Kripa won the final of 8th U-12 Challenger Trophy 2018 by 38 runs against Zainy Fashion.
Player of the match was Divyanshu Sahu from Matri Kripa.
