Ashta Cup 2018 was organized between 22nd Jun.’18 to 4th Jul.’18 at Jaipur.
Out of the 5 participant teams, an all-important final of this much cherishe tournament was played between Ashta Sunrisers and Ashta Superkings on 4th Jul.’18 at Tilak Nagar Ground- Jipur.
Electing to bat, despite a poor start Ashta Sunrisers scored at a very good pace and made 121 runs in 11.2 overs after losing all the wickets. Highest run-getters were Rakib Khan and Saif with 36 and 22 runs respectively. Aaditya Khandelwal from Ashta Superkings bowled extremely well as he scalped 3 wickets in 2 overs by giving only 5 runs resulted in early collapse of Ashta Sunrisers.
While chasing, Ashta Superkings chased down the target in just 12.5 overs by losing 7 wickets. Jai Geryani gave team a good start as he scored 26 runs off 11 balls with 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Aditya Kandelwal too played a good innings and added helpful 24 runs in crucial overs helping team reach at the target easily. Pick of the bowlers was Rakib Khan from Ashta Sunrisers with 2 wickets.
Ashta Superkings registered an easy 3 wickets win over Ashta Sunrisers in the final of Ashta Cup 2018.
Aditya Kandelwal from Ashta Superkings was awarded as the player of the match.
