KPL (Kauni Premier League) 2018 was organized between 5th Jun.’18 to 24th Jun.’18 at Muktsar.
Out the 6 participant teams, the final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Punjab Warriors and Punjab Spartans on 24th Jun.’18 at Pau Ground- Muktsar.
Electing to bat, Punjab Warriors did not manage to put up a good score for the final fight. Team started to lose wickets from early overs, where none of the batmen managed to stay strong on crease for long. The highest score was of 20 runs made by Kanwarjeet in 17 balls. Team bundled up making 105 runs in 14.3 overs. Though all the bowlers of Punjab Spartans did a good job, the pick of the lot was Shani Chattiana, who scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs giving 17 runs. Preet Daula, Jarnail Doda and Navjeet Brar too picked 2 wickets each resulted in early collapse of Punjab Warriors.
While replying, Punjab Spartans fired in unison with almost all the players contributing significantly in the final chase. Team started well with the stable partnership of Teena Rupana and Preet Daula, who added 18 and 19 runs respectively, followed by as strong innings by Jarnail Doda, who added useful 31 runs off 38 balls. Team chased down the target in 18.1 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Pala Crkt from Punjab Warriors, who took 2 wickets in 4 overs giving 18 runs.
Punjab Spartans registered an easy 7 wickets win over Punjab Warriors in the final of KPL (Kauni Premier League) 2018.
